Rates
Square Inch Quilting Price
Basic Edge-to-Edge Longarm Quilting Rate is 3 cents per square inch (unless otherwise quoted).
Very dense or elaborate quilt designs may be quoted at $0.035-$0.04 cents per square inch.
Please indicate your preferred quilt design on you Quilt Intake Form.
Example of Basic Design Edge-to-Edge Quilt Pricing:
Quilt Top Measures 60" x 80"
60"x 80" = 4800"
4800x.03= $144
Minimum Quilting Charge is $50
Small quilts, table runners, etc., square inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum.
My goal is to have your completed quilt returned to you within ~3 weeks once it is received. Please indicate on your Quilt Intake Form or contact me directly if you need expedited service.
Batting
I stock Hobbs Heirloom and Quilters Dream 80% Cotton / 20% Poly Blend Batting.
Batting is a separate charge, not included in the square inch price.
Batting is charged by the linear inch and typically cut from queen sized rolls of batting.
(Except in the case of prepackaged or special-order battings.)
I use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side plus a 5" margin) & charge per linear inch.
Please indicate your batting preference on your Quilt Intake Form.
Example Batting Pricing:
Quilt Top Measures 60" x 80" plus 5-inch margin=65"x80"
Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 blend batting @ $0.36 per linear inch
65" x $0.36/in = $23.40
Thread
I stock a wide variety of Glide 40wt thread colors, & limited Fantastico & So Fine 50wt threads.
Thread is included in the square inch price.
If you have a preference on thread color, please indicate on your Quilt Intake Form.
Photography
Photos will be taken upon completion of your quilt and texted/emailed to you.
Please be sure to give me a shout out for the quilting if you plan to post your photos publicly!
This extra service is included in your square inch price.

Shipping
Shipping your Quilt Top and Backing to Me: I live in Michigan, USA, and am happy to receive your quilt top and backing by mail. Please complete and submit a Quilt Intake Form prior to shipping your quilt. Quilted in Color is not responsible for the carrier and arrival of your quilt. Be sure to keep the tracking number from the shipping service you select. Please place quilt materials in a waterproof bag, in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and clearly labeled.
Return Shipping: Quilts are returned to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority Mail (using flat rate when possible/economical). Priority mail comes with $100 of insurance and a tracking number. Please indicate on your Quilt Intake Form if you would like to purchase additional insurance.
Other Costs
Any additional costs incurred prior to quilt loading (squaring, pressing, seaming, additional fabric, design purchase, etc.) or in the quilt finishing process (trimming, binding, special photography) will be discussed and indicated on your invoice.
The State of Michigan may require a 6% sales tax to be collected.
